## How the face was made

- **Tool:** Postiz `generateImageTool`. It takes a text prompt only, so the live photo could **not** be passed as a reference image. (The Cursor GenerateImage tool was not available in this session.) The prompts describe the live design, and I compared each result by eye with the live photo.
- **Chosen:** 006-d (of 5: 006-a, -b, -c, -d, -x). Most faithful to the live piece: dark navy still centre, cream and sand-gold foam ring with a fractal shoreline, blue ripple rings, gold bead and rope rim. 006-a/-b had outer rings far too light; 006-c had a regular "puzzle" foam; 006-x had a wrong red rim (my prompt error).
- **Prompt used:** "Round silk rug design, flat top view, perfect circle filling the square image, white outside. Deep dark navy ocean: calm black-navy centre pool filling the middle half, thin dark navy rings, an irregular ring of cream and golden-beige sea foam lace with a ragged fractal inner shoreline, then wide dark blue-teal outer rings with fine ripple stripes, all in deep dark blues, and a thin gold bead and rope border at the rim. Flat 2D textile artwork, clean shapes, dark muted palette, no floor, no perspective, no shadows, no text, no watermark."
- **Output:** 1024×1024. Fitted the circle, warped it to a true circle filling a 2048 canvas (Lanczos), applied a light unsharp mask, and set everything outside the circle to white. No Real-ESRGAN (torch is not installed); the face is vectorised to flat colour anyway.

## Vector build (loom-ready)

- Face upscaled to 3000 px (2 px/mm), then an edge-preserving bilateral filter was applied.
- Every pixel was assigned to the nearest named yarn in Lab colour space, then cleaned with a majority filter.
- **Minimum area:** any colour patch under **9 knots (3×3 knots ≈ 38.7 mm²)** was merged into its neighbour, so every shape is knottable at 150 knots/in².
- Traced with vtracer in **spline** mode (smooth curves, no pixel stairs), speckle filter to match.
- Rim rebuilt as clean geometry after re-centring the face on its gold bead ring: navy band r 696–750 mm, solid Sand Gold rope line r 704–711 mm, 180 Sand Gold oval beads (21.6 × 12.6 mm) centred on r 725 mm.
- The SVG uses **only the named palette colours** (checked).
- **SVG:** 3.02 MB · **2334 shapes** (2154 paths, 180 ellipses, 0 polygons, 0 lines) · **11 colours**.

## Knot context (150 knots/in²)

1.5 m round = 59.1 in diameter, about 2,740 in², so **about 410,900 knots** and **about 723 knots across**. One knot is about 2.1 mm, and the 6000 render is about 8.3 px per knot.

## Palette (11 yarns)

"Share" is measured on the 6000 render inside the round. Knot counts are approximate (share × 410,900).

## Fidelity vs the live piece

- Same composition as the live 006: large still navy centre, cream/sand-gold foam ring with fractal shoreline, concentric blue ripple rings, gold bead and rope rim.
- Differences from the live photo: the foam ring is narrower and more even all the way round (the live foam is wider and more lopsided, heavier at the top). The live foam's fine lace is now chunky flat patches. The live photo's window-light stripes are gone.
- The blue ripple rings are traced as streaky flat patches of 5 blues. That reads as water texture, not as crisp concentric rings.

- Source of truth for the look of the live piece: `public/designs/006-sit-4k.jpg` on the live site repo (chultemo-byte/hridaya-waitlist); not edited.
