# HRIDAYA KH-001 "Heart Lotus": loom master cartoon, real-v1

Drawn 2026-09-25 from the founder's photo of 001 (the red-to-saffron design). This **replaces** the old cream-field / 12 pointed green petals master (`HRIDAYA-GTC-12PETAL-LOOM-*`), which is wrong for 001. The old files were left untouched. Nothing here has been uploaded, emailed or published.

## Files
| File | What it is |
|---|---|
| `HRIDAYA-001-LOOM-MASTER.svg` | Vector master. 1500 mm x 1500 mm, viewBox 0 0 1500 1500 (1 unit = 1 mm). Flat fills only: no strokes, gradients or clip paths. Every path is labelled with its yarn code. |
| `HRIDAYA-001-LOOM-6000.png` | 6000 x 6000 px raster (4 px/mm). Transparent outside the circle. The full rim touches all four edges and nothing is cropped. |
| `HRIDAYA-001-LOOM.pdf` | Single page, 4251.97 pt square = 1500 mm, so the carpet prints at 1:1. |
| `HRIDAYA-001-LOOM-PREVIEW-1200.png` | 1200 px preview for chat, with a margin so the whole rim shows. |
| `palette.json` | Yarn palette: hex, RGB, role, the photo region each colour was sampled from, area %, approximate knot count per yarn. |
| `compare.png` | Internal check only: the photo, the rectified photo, the cartoon, and the cartoon outlines drawn over the photo. |
| `variants/…INTERLACED-STAR.svg / -PREVIEW-1200.png` | Optional version where the star has over-under interlace breaks. Everything else is identical. |
| `work/` | Build scripts (`gen.py`, `params_master.json`, `params_interlaced.json`), photo rectification and colour-sampling scripts, and the intermediate files they produce. |

| KH09 | Antique Gold | `#a06927` | petal outlines, disc ring, hexagram, centre dot, 144 rim dots, bead bodies | 6.5 % |
| KH10 | Bronze | `#703b15` | bead rims and rosette ridges | 0.5 % |

**Yarn count: 10.** The red-to-saffron blend uses 5 of them: 4 field bands plus the oxblood edge.
The photo was taken in warm, dim room light. Each colour is the median of the pixels between the 40th and 80th luminance percentile in its region. For comparison, `palette.json` also lists the same regions sampled from the brighter live face-001 image. **Approve colours on physical dyed poms, not on screen.**

## Dimensions (R = 750 mm, centre = carpet centre, 0° = 12 o'clock)
- **Round, Ø 1500 mm.** Oxblood edge from r 731.25 to 750 mm (18.75 mm wide).
- **Blend bands:** Crimson r 645–731 mm · Scarlet r 592.5–645 mm · Flame r 547.5–592.5 mm · Saffron inside r 547.5 mm.
Band boundaries are dovetailed rather than smooth: 288 teeth each, ±3.75 mm, with tooth tips on the petal axes. This is the loom's version of the photo's soft blend. Each tooth is about 6 knots wide and 3.6 knots high.
- **12 petals** on axes every 30°, starting at 12 o'clock. The tip is at r 606 mm and the widest point is 196.5 mm (half-width 98.25 mm) at r ≈ 420–515 mm. Near the disc, neighbouring petals meet on a shared radial gold line (each petal is clipped to its ±15° wedge up to r ≈ 367 mm). Gold outline 6 mm wide. Veins: one 5.25 mm midrib plus two 4.1 mm lateral veins on each side, following the leaf outline.
- **Disc:** Forest, Ø 483 mm (r 241.5 mm), with a gold ring from r 241.5 to 255 mm (13.5 mm wide).
- **Star:** a regular hexagram of two equilateral triangle bands. Outer circumradius 177 mm, band 16.5 mm wide, apex at 12 o'clock in line with the top petal. Solid gold outline bands overlap as in the photo. Gold centre dot Ø 25.5 mm.
- **Rim dots:** 144 gold dots, Ø 9.75 mm, on r 678 mm, one every 2.5°, with one directly outboard of each bead.
- **12 beads:** centres on r 630 mm on the petal axes, Ø 43.5 mm, each touching its petal tip. Gold body, 4.1 mm bronze rim, 8 bronze ridges 3.4 mm wide, gold boss Ø 13 mm.
- **Symmetry was checked numerically:** 12-fold symmetry outside the disc, 6-fold including the star, and mirror symmetry about the vertical axis.
- **Knots:** 150 knots/in², about 12.25 knots/in or a 2.07 mm pitch. That gives about 724 knots across and about 411,000 knots in total. The finest feature is a bead ridge (3.4 mm, about 1.6 knots). Veins are about 2 knots and outlines about 3.

## Judgement calls
1. **Photo cleanup.** The photo is foreshortened, and its beads, rim and disc are slightly off-centre from each other (by up to about 3 %). I rectified it using a 12-bead homography plus an ellipse fit to the rim, then idealised everything to be concentric with exact 12-fold spacing.
2. **Star.** The photo's star is irregular: the up-triangle is wide, the down-triangle is squashed, and there is a stray third horizontal bar. I replaced it with an exact hexagram, sized as the geometric mean of the photo star's height and width. The master uses solid overlapping bands, as the photo shows. The founder's word "interlaced" is covered by the optional over-under variant in `variants/`.
3. **Blend.** The photographic gradient becomes 4 stepped field bands plus the edge, with dovetail teeth.
4. **Petal overlap.** Near the disc the petals overlap in the photo. I resolved this symmetrically by clipping each petal to its wedge, so neighbours share a radial gold line.
5. **Colours.** I took the olive from the greener petal mid-tones, because warm light pushes the photo toward khaki and the founder calls the petals sage/olive. Veins got their own Deep Moss yarn so they stay visible. The light sheen on the rim in the photo is lighting, so it was ignored.
6. **Beads.** The rosette beads are simplified to flat gold and bronze, with nothing finer than about 1.6 knots.
