## Legend

25 September 2026

The first drawing of Hridaya was pale, cream and quiet. On the day the record was sealed, the founder looked again and said: this is not her true face. So Hridaya revealed herself as she really is, with a crimson fire at the rim, a saffron glow, twelve green leaves opening, and the golden star at the heart. The pale drawing stays in the archive, as the seed she grew from.

Why Hridaya went to Bhadohi.

In 1957 a young man walked into a Bhadohi workshop and gave his life to perfecting rugs by hand. From 1965 his wife carried those rugs city to city across India, trading them, building land and name as she went. Their son opened his own looms in 1984, and in 2025 their grandson, Muhammad Sahil, raised the family's own name: The Carpetra. Three generations, loyal to their family and to their craft. That loyalty is why Hridaya chose their hands to bring her into the world.
