# 008 Big Bang: sources

Record page: `008-big-bang.html`. Prepared 27 September 2026 (PT), after the founder's "008 go" (5:45 PM PT), which meant build only. Nothing has been uploaded, published, filed, committed or emailed.

## 1. Every claim on the page, with where it comes from

| Claim on the page | Source | How it was checked |
|---|---|---|
| Why line "008 · Big Bang — the universe's first breath."; "What it is" (the lead words and the size and silk words); "Why it is a masterpiece"; "The geometry"; the mantra lines; "The sit"; "The sequence"; "Pain is information…" | The founder's text, `FOUNDER-TEXT-2026-09-27.md` (from his Grok chat, share f54a3c1e, 27 Sep 2026, about 5:05 PM PT) | Used close to word for word. Phrases that did not match the drawing, or could not be confirmed, were changed or cut. Each change is listed in `CHANGES.md`. Note: in the chat, the one-page text is Grok's answer to his request ("Masterpiece, the uh Big Bang Carpet"), which he then sent on. It is not a line he spoke himself |
| A pale-gold center; fine gold rays; gold veins through the violet; a violet ring; a ring of gold dust; gold stars on a black field; a gold rope rim | Loom master `HRIDAYA-GTC-008-LOOM-MASTER.svg`. I rendered the SVG myself in Chrome (1500 px) and matched it against the 6000 px PNG (0.18% of pixels differ by more than 30/255, all at antialiased edges). I also measured each yarn with a mask, ring by ring | **Core:** Star Light `#FAEB9A` (a pale gold, not white) out to about 60–80 mm, then Bright Gold, Temple Gold, Old Gold, Antique Gold, Bronze Dust, Dark Bronze and Deep Umber glow out to about 200 mm. **Rays:** 88 Temple Gold polygons (`<g id="core-rays">`), from r 80 mm out to r 279 mm, with small gold flecks. **Black gap:** about 200–260 mm. **Violet ring:** Deep Violet, Royal Violet and Lavender Haze smoke, inner edge r 262–354 mm and outer edge r 415–511 mm (it is not a perfect circle), with Old Gold, Temple Gold and Bright Gold veins running through it. **Gold dust ring:** Bright Gold, Temple Gold and Star Light dots in a Dark Bronze and Deep Umber haze, about 510–590 mm. **Stars:** Bright Gold and Temple Gold dots on Void Black out to about 700 mm. **Rim:** a black band r 725–750 mm, with a Temple Gold rope r 728–743 mm and 268 Antique Gold twist strokes. There is **no white yarn** in the palette |
| Twelve silk colours, with names | `KH-008-LOOM-NOTES.md` palette table, which `build.py` checks against the SVG `<metadata>` (same 12 names and hex values, same order) | Read by the build script. The traced paths use only these fills (asserted) |
| 1.5 m round; 150 knots per square inch; about 410,900 knots | `KH-008-LOOM-NOTES.md`, "Knot context" (1.5 m = 59.1 in diameter, about 2,740 in²) | 2,740 × 150 = 411,000; the notes round it to about 410,900 |
| Origin "India, Nepal"; Weaver "To be named when the loom starts" | Wording set by the brief, the same as the sister records | |
| Status "Waiting for its master. The drawing awaits the founder's final look." | `KH-008-LOOM-NOTES.md` and the SVG `<desc>`: redraw v2 was "approved in principle by the founder 2026-09-25, pending his final look" | Same wording 006 and 009 used before approval |
| SHA-256 of the SVG, PNG and PDF | Computed on the box, 27 Sep 2026 | See section 5. `build.py` recomputes them on every build |
| Internet Archive item and CID: "Pending publication" | As instructed. Nothing was published | See the open questions in `CHANGES.md` about earlier Lighthouse uploads of these files |
| Ham is the traditional seed syllable of space (ether), at Vishuddha, the throat centre, and not Khard Hridaya's own; the throat lotus is "of a smoky purple hue"; "the Ethereal Region, circular in shape, and white like the full Moon"; "the Bija of Ether or Ham" | Purnananda, *Sat-Cakra-Nirupana*, verses 28 and 29, in Avalon, *The Serpent Power* | See section 2 |
| Written by Purnananda in 1577 | Avalon's preface: the *Shritattvachintamani*, "composed in the Shaka year 1499 (A.D. 1577)" (read in `dli.ministry.26996`) | The same date the 003, 006 and 009 records use |
| The universe is about 13.8 billion years old, by the final Planck results of 2018; Planck is an ESA space telescope | Planck Collaboration, "Planck 2018 results. VI. Cosmological parameters", *A&A* 641, A6 (2020), arXiv:1807.06209, **Table 2**, last column (TT,TE,EE+lowE+lensing+BAO): "Age [Gyr] 13.787 ± 0.020". Footnote 1 of the paper: "Planck (https://www.esa.int/Planck) is a project of the European Space Agency (ESA)…". The paper is listed on ESA's Planck publications page, https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/planck/publications | arXiv PDF downloaded and read on 27 Sep 2026 (the A&A page itself sat behind a captcha). The page says "about 13.8 billion years" |
| The CMB was "imprinted on the sky when the Universe was only 380 000 years old" | ESA, "Celebrating the legacy of ESA's Planck mission", 18 Oct 2013 | Page read on 27 Sep 2026. The page says "about 380,000 years old" |
| Lemaître, a Belgian cosmologist and Catholic priest, 1931 letter to *Nature*: "We could conceive the beginning of the universe in the form of a unique atom"; later "primeval atom"; the "fireworks" image and its flaw ("fireworks explode into the surrounding space whereas there was no space into which the primeval atom-universe could expand") | Helge Kragh, "What's in a Name: History and Meanings of the Term 'Big Bang'" (2013), arXiv:1301.0219, pp. 7–9 | PDF read on 27 Sep 2026. Kragh: "In a brief letter to Nature of 9 May 1931…"; "the Belgian cosmologist"; "Lemaître, who was a Catholic priest" |
| 28 March 1949, a talk on BBC radio; Hoyle backed a rival theory; "was created in one big bang at a particular time in the remote past"; he could not accept it | Kragh 2013, p. 16: "On 28 March 1949 Hoyle gave a twenty-minute's talk … to BBC's Third Programme"; "the hypothesis that all the matter of the universe was created in one big bang at a particular time in the remote past"; he found it "unacceptable on both scientific and philosophical grounds" (his own theory was the steady state) | The page does **not** say he meant the name as mockery (Kragh says that is debated) |
| Penzias and Wilson, Bell Telephone Laboratories, Holmdel, New Jersey; a faint microwave radiation from space, the same in every direction; they made no suggestion about its origin; read as fossil radiation of the big bang; half of the 1978 Nobel Prize in Physics | NobelPrize.org, 1978 summary ("the other half jointly to Arno Allan Penzias and Robert Woodrow Wilson 'for their discovery of cosmic microwave background radiation'") and press release ("its intensity was the same in all directions"; "These two researchers made no suggestions about the origin of this mysterious radiation"; "it was reasonable to suspect that it was fossil radiation from the 'big bang'") | Both pages read on 27 Sep 2026. No discovery year is given on the page, so none is needed |
| "The Big Bang took place everywhere in space, not at a particular point in space." | Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, "Brief Answers to Cosmic Questions" | Read on 27 Sep 2026, word for word. The page adds, in Khard Hridaya's voice, that the carpet's bright centre is an image, not a map |
| Rigveda hymn: "Who knows then whence it first came into being? … Whose eye controls this world in highest heaven, he verily knows it, or perhaps he knows not." | *The Hymns of the Rigveda*, Book 10, Hymn 129, "Creation", tr. Ralph T. H. Griffith (1896), https://sacred-texts.com/hin/rigveda/rv10129.htm | Read on 27 Sep 2026, word for word (verse 6 end, verse 7 end). Marked on the page as a parallel, not a prediction. No date is given for the hymn |
| "Before a renumbering, the number 008 belonged to Tara Code, which became carpet 007." | `KH-007-LOOM-NOTES.md` (in `archive/pub-007/HRIDAYA-GTC-007-LOOM-README.md`): "an older folder `…/KH-008/` (from before the 007/008 renumber, when Tara Code was 008)"; `archive/pub-007/HISTORY.md`: "2026-09-22 — Tara Code takes its place as Masterpiece 007"; `KH-008/KH-008-FACE-LOCK.md` still says "Masterpiece 008 — Tara Code", and `KH-008/refs/01-PATTERN.jpg` is byte-identical (SHA-256 `fd262294…`) to `TARA-CODE-RAINBOW-MAZE-RETIRED.jpg` | |
| The first drawing was traced on 25 Sep 2026 from the picture on the Khard Hridaya website; it covered about three quarters of the round and the missing sides were left plain black; the same day it was redrawn as one flat, round design with the founder's go-ahead in principle, made with an image-generation tool, chosen from four candidates; the traced drawing is kept | `KH-008/photo-trace-v1/KH-008-LOOM-NOTES.md` ("Built: 2026-09-25 PT"; source "`public/designs/008-sit-4k.jpg`" on the live site; "About 25% of the round (left and right side lunes) is outside the only photo. It is filled with plain Void Black ground as a placeholder"); `KH-008/KH-008-LOOM-NOTES.md` ("REDRAW v2 … made with image generation to match the live piece. The founder approved the redraw in principle on 2026-09-25 ('redo with build, one standard, high standard, GO')"; "Chosen: 008-c (of 4…)"; "`photo-trace-v1/` Previous photo-traced pack … kept, not deleted") | There is no git history in `KH-008/` (not a repository); file times are all copy times (26 Sep 2026, 10:26 PM PT), so the order comes from the notes |
| 88 fine gold rays; three violets; 268 twists | The master SVG: 88 `<polygon>` in `core-rays`, 268 `<line>` in `rim-rope-twist`; three violet yarns in the palette | Counted in the SVG |

## 2. The Ham citation in detail

- **Text:** Purnananda, *Sat-Cakra-Nirupana* (1577), in Arthur Avalon, *The Serpent Power* (London: Luzac, 1919). Public domain.
- **Verses 28 and 29** (Vishuddha): "In the throat is the Lotus called Vishuddha, which is pure and of a smoky purple hue. All the (sixteen) shining vowels on its (sixteen) petals, of a crimson hue, are distinctly visible to him whose mind (Buddhi) is illumined. In the pericarp of this lotus there is the Ethereal Region, circular in shape, and white like the full Moon. On an elephant white as snow is seated the Bija of Ambara, who is white of colour."
  - Note to "the Ethereal Region": "Ether is the element of this Chakra, the sign (Mandala) of this Tattva being a circle (Vritta-rupa)."
  - Note to "Bija": "Manu=Mantra=(here) 'Ham'."
  - Commentary: "'The Bija of Ambara' (Tasya manoh).—Tasya manoh means literally 'His mantra' which is the Bija of Ether or Ham", and "in the form of Ham which is Akasha-Bija".
- **Summary of the Vishuddha Chakra:** "At the base of the throat is the Vishuddha Chakra, with sixteen petals of smoky purple hue. … In its pericarp is the ethereal region (Nabho-mandala), circular and white. Inside it is the Chandra-mandala, and above it is the Bija Ham."
- **Space = ether (Akasha):** the introduction's table of the centres gives, for Vishuddha, "Akasha; space".
- **Where I checked it**, in the same two archive.org editions the 003, 006 and 009 records use (full texts downloaded on 27 Sep 2026):
  1. A later Ganesh & Co. edition, `dli.ministry.26996` (catalogued as 1950). It has the heading "VERSES 28 AND 29", the wording above, and spells the syllable "Ham". https://archive.org/details/dli.ministry.26996
  2. The second revised edition, Madras: Ganesh & Co., 1924, `in.ernet.dli.2015.283748`. It has the same verses and notes, and spells the syllable "Hang". Its OCR text misreads the heading as "Verses 23 and 29"; it sits between "Verse 27" and "Verse 30", so it is verses 28 and 29. https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.283748
- **Caveat:** the 1919 first edition is not online. The page cites *The Serpent Power* (1919) and names both editions actually checked.
- **On the page:** "The mantra is traditional: the seed syllable of space, at Vishuddha, the throat centre. It is not Khard Hridaya's own." His mantra is only the one syllable "Ham", so nothing is marked as Khard Hridaya's own. His "The chest saying: I am not the dust…" and "zero grip" are kept as he wrote them.

## 3. Left out (could not be sourced, or not wanted)

- **"about seventy days on the loom"**: unconfirmed, as the brief says. Cut.
- **"master-level loom"**: no loom or weaver has been chosen yet (Weaver: "To be named when the loom starts"), so it cannot be confirmed. Cut.
- **"white-gold"** (for the centre): the drawing has no white yarn. Its lightest yarn is Star Light, a pale gold. Changed to "pale-gold".
- **The exact age 13.787 ± 0.020 billion years** is in the sources list only; the story says "about 13.8 billion".
- **Hubble 1929, the IAU's 2018 "Hubble–Lemaître law" vote, the 1965 paper, the CMB temperature**: true, but not needed. Left out to keep the legend short.
- **Hoyle meant the name as mockery**: debated (Kragh), so not said.
- **Sadhguru's "eighty-four creations"** (from the same chat): tradition, not measurement, and no primary source. Left out.
- **Hiranyagarbha, Shri Vidya bindu parallels** (in `research/motifs-…md`): not needed; the Rigveda 10.129 parallel is enough.
- **Any line from the floor photo.** His 008 text has no cushion, window or walnut line, so there was none to cut. The page art is drawn only from the loom master.
- **Any claim that the carpet or the sit does anything for the body or mind.** None is made.

## 4. Other files in `KH-008/` (not used)

- `photo-trace-v1/HRIDAYA-GTC-008-LOOM-MASTER.svg` (SHA-256 `93efbc9c…`): the earlier photo-traced master (14 yarns, about a quarter of the round placeholder black). Superseded by redraw v2, kept as history.
- `KH-008-FACE-2048.png` (the face the v2 master was vectorised from), `redraw-candidates/008-a…d.png`, `HRIDAYA-GTC-008-FACE-*.png`, `HRIDAYA-GTC-008-SIT-*.png`, `_demoted-*.png`, `_altered-pattern-demos/`: design and preview images, not loom masters.
- `KH-008-FACE-LOCK.md`, `refs/01-PATTERN*.jpg`, `refs/02-DESIGN.jpg`, `TARA-CODE-STAMP-SOURCE.png`: Tara Code material from when Tara Code was numbered 008.
